On July 28 and 29, the Ghent Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 will host the Columbia County Volunteer Firefighters Association (CCVFA) annual convention, an event that coincides with Ghent Fire Company’s 100 year anniversary. Festivities will include CCVFA annual business meetings and recognition of volunteers and dignitaries and culminate with a parade on Saturday at 2:00pm along Rte. 66 in Ghent. Parade entrants will be judged on color guard, uniforms and marching, with separate categories for judging equipment. The parade is open to the public.
