Pursuant to Sections 506 and 526 of the Real Property Tax Law:
1) Notice is hereby given that the Tentative Assessment Roll for the Town of Ghent is completed, and a copy thereof is available at the Town Clerk’s Office. The Roll may also be viewed online at www.townofghent.org and www.columbiacountyny.com.
2) Notice is hereby given that the Assessor will be in attendance with the Tentative Assessment Roll for the Town of Ghent on the following days:
May 12, 2021 9 am – 1pm by phone appointment only
May 15, 2021 8 am – 12pm by phone appointment only
May 19, 2021 9am-1 pm by phone appointment only
May 20, 2021 4pm –8 pm by phone appointment only
(Due to Covid-19 restrictions the assessor is available for appointment by phone only. Please call the office at 518-392-4644 to schedule an appointment ahead of time if needed.)
3) Notice is hereby given that the Board of Assessment Review for the Town of Ghent will meet to hear and examine all properly filed complaints in relation to assessments of Real Property on May 25, 2021 4pm-8pm BY ZOOM APPOINTMENT ONLY .
No public will be admitted to the building during these hours. Property owners are not required to be present during grievance. However, property owners may request an appointment for the Zoom meeting by contacting the Town Assessor’s Office prior to May 20th to schedule.
(Due to Covid-19 restrictions, property owners needing to grieve their 2021 tentative assessment are strongly encouraged to submit their grievance application and supporting documentation to the Town Assessor prior to May 20th either by mailing to Town of Ghent Assessor, PO Box 98, Ghent, NY 12075, or by emailing to [email protected].
