The Town’s Planning Board has a vacancy. As such, the Town Board invites any Ghent resident (18 years old or older) interested in serving on the Town’s Planning Board to send a letter of interest and resume to Dan Barufaldi, Town Councilmember, by March 15, 2023. Previous applicants are encouraged to submit their letter of interest and resume.
The Planning Board meets at 7pm on the first Wednesday of each month (occasionally more often). There are several hours of reading in preparation for each meeting, and the meetings typically last 90 minutes or longer. Additionally, there are 7.5 hours of training required in the first year, and 6 hours every year thereafter. The term of each board member is 7 years, although this appointment fills a term ending 2023, which may lead to reappointment for a 7-year term.
