Pursuant to Sections 506 and 526 of the Real Property Tax Law:
- Notice is hereby given that the 2025 Tentative Assessment Roll for the Town of Ghent is completed, and a copy thereof may be seen at Ghent Town Hall, 2306 Rte. 66 until June 2.
- Notice is hereby given that an Assessor will be in attendance with the Tentative Assessment Roll for the Town of Ghent by phone appointment only on May 7 (9 am – 1 pm); May 14 (9-11 am and 6-8 pm); May 17 (8 am – 12 noon) and May 21 (9 am – 1 pm). You must schedule a phone appointment by calling (518) 392-4644.
- Notice is hereby given that the Board of Assessment Review for the Town of Ghent will meet to hear and examine all properly filed complaints in relation to assessments of Real Property at Ghent Town Hall from 4 – 8 pm on May 27, 2025.
- A publication containing procedures for contesting an assessment is available at the Assessor’s Office or the Columbia County Real Property Tax Office as well as online at: http://www.tax.ny.gov/pdf/publications/orpts/grievancebooklet.pdf. Completed applications can be mailed or dropped at Town Hall. They will not be accepted by email.
