The Town of Ghent is pleased to announce the transition of its official website and email addresses from townofghent.org to townofghent.gov.
This change helps clearly identify the Town’s online services as official government resources and aligns with the use of the .gov domain by government agencies across the United States.
As part of this transition:
- Town Email Addresses
- Beginning Monday, July 6, 2026, Town email addresses will officially transition from @townofghent.org to @townofghent.gov.
- The email transition has been completed in phases over the past several weeks to help ensure continuity of Town services.
- Email sent to existing @townofghent.org addresses will continue to be delivered during the transition period, ensuring there is no interruption in communication.
- Residents, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to update their contact information to reflect the new @townofghent.gov email addresses and add the new domain to their address books, contact lists, and email safe-sender lists to help ensure Town emails are not mistaken for spam or junk mail.

- Over the next 60 days, the Town’s official website will transition from townofghent.org to townofghent.gov.
- Once the transition is complete, visitors to townofghent.org will be automatically redirected to the new townofghent.gov website.
- Residents and Businesses
- No immediate action is required.
- Additional updates will be shared as the website transition progresses.
