The Ghent Comprehensive Plan Review Committee (“CPRC”) is publishing the Ghent Comprehensive Plan – 2025 Draft v1.0 today, as scheduled. The CPRC expects this draft may change following input from the public, the Ghent Planning Board, Ghent Zoning Board of Appeals, various County agencies and the Town Board, over the next few months. The plan is available on the Town website by clicking the link below, or in hardcopy at Town Hall, during normal business hours.
The Committee has been working over the last 18 months to update the Town Comprehensive Plan, during which time it has held several events to elicit input from the public. Over the next 5 weeks, it will conduct the final three public outreach events, before the Plan is presented to the Town Board. Each event is an opportunity for Ghent residents to review the draft plan, ask questions and provide comments to the CPRC.

September 2, 2025; Draft Comprehensive Plan Public Release
The Plan will be available on the Town website townofghent.org, with hard copies available at Town Hall during normal business hours.
September 9, 2025, Ghent Town Hall, 6:30pm; CPRC Public Meeting
A brief presentation on the process and the plan, followed by public comment period.
September 27, 2025, Ghent Town Garage, 11:00am-3:00pm; Ghent Community Day
Come by the CPRC table, ask questions and provide feedback.
October 14, 2025, Ghent Town Hall, 7:00pm; CPRC Public Hearing
The CPRC conducts a public hearing on the Draft Plan as one of the last steps prior to presenting it to the Town Board.
The final public comment period opens today (September 2, 2025) and will close after the Public Hearing on October 14, 2025.
